Very Few Know of Fr. Alexei Gnevushev (†1848) and the miracle worked through his intercession. Prince Zhevakhov, assistant to the oberprocurator of the Holy Synod, speaks of this miraculous event in his Memoirs. He himslef learned of it at the Optina Hermitage, where the oral account of Hieromonk Pamvo of Optina had been recorded.
